The DLP8 is a mains / rechargeable battery powered double-pulse generator. It is ideal for testing pulse counting channels.
Negative pulses at six selectable widths and repetition frequency from 0.1Hz to 100kHz are available as single or double pulses. The pulse widths of the two pulses are independently selectable to 10, 22, 47, 100, 220ns and >2us. Hence, the first and second pulses can be set to different widths.
The amplitudes of the two pulses are independently variable by two built-in attenuators. Hence, the first and second pulses can be set to different amplitudes. A 50 ohm voltage output is provided, which gives -1V into a high impedance or -500mV into 50 ohms with the attenuators set to 0dB. A current output is also provided, which gives -10uA into a low-impedance load with the attenuators set to 0dB. The attenuators are variable from 0 to 42dB. A separate trigger output is also provided, which gives 0.5V into 50 ohms. The trigger pulse precedes the first pulse by 100ns for triggering an oscilloscope.
In double pulse mode, the time between the pulses is continuously variable from 0 to 1us by a ten turn counting dial.
