The CGM7 detects
a,
b and
g radiation and can be used to indicate an increase in background radiation thus alerting the user to a possible undesirable hazard.
A normal background count rate due to cosmic, radon and other naturally occurring events in the region of 5-100 counts/minute indicates that the instrument is operating normally. Count rates less than 1 count/minute indicates battery failing or circuit malfunction.
WARNING The detector within this monitor has a very thin mica window. DO NOT allow objects to be inserted in the front grille as permanent damage will probably result!!
